Outreach
The Outreach Ministry has an international, national
and local focus. We distribute clothing, food,
toiletries, toys and much needed assistance to
rebuild communities as well as lives. Our interfaith
mission gives us a diversified outlook that opens
our hearts and minds to the needs of others.
NUMC sponsors Boy Scouts. Troop 54 has met in
our facility for several years. They meet every
Monday night and have the Courts of Honor here
as well. They annually sponsor a car wash in
the church parking lot. There website is http://www.novitroop54.org
NUMC also sponsors a Cub Scout group,
Pack 746.
They generally meet on the third Thursday
of each month. There website is www.tcpack746.com

ongoing and some seasonal, are:
Peace
Ministry
Participate in monthly peace vigils along Ten
Mile Road in front of the church on the first
Sunday of each month. The vigil will be from
12:00 noon until 1:00pm. This will not be a
protest against anything, but rather done in a
totally positive manner, expressing a desire for
Peace. We will hold signs, pray for peace,
and sing songs of peace. You may provide
signs if you wish that state "Peace" or
"Pray for Peace", but providing a sign
is not required. If you can not attend every
month, you may still participate when you
can. Contact Howard Kahn at (248) 225-7706.

Cass
Luncheons
We serve
CASS Luncheon once every three months on a

transport supplies down to CASS Community
Center where we prepare and serve
the meal to the homeless. We are back at
the church around 2:00 p.m. Further

CASS. Contact Kathy Ballard.
Rotary
Lunches Novi Rotary meets each Thursday at noon in Memorial
Hall. A special ministry team headed by our Kitchen
Supervisor, Kathy Ballard meets at the church each
Thursday morning to prepare the luncheon meal
for the group.
Halloween Care Packages for College
Students
This ministry team assembles and packs care
packages for college students away from home to
remind them that they are still in our family,
loved and not forgotten. Contact Beth
Hinman.
Ministry by
Mail These
ministry members reach out to those that could use
a reminder of God's love through the mail.
They send cards, letters, care packages (and
thoughts and prayers) to individuals that may
benefit from the occasional greeting, such as the
ill, injured, college students, service personnel
or prison inmates away from home. Contact
Beth Hinman either to join this ministry or to
provide the name and address of someone who should
receive this ministry.
Sharing
Tree We
provide needed clothing and toys to severely underprivileged
children at Christmas time. We service the
children of the Whitmer school in Pontiac.
This team decorates a Christmas tree in the
narthex with cards with the children's information
on them for selection by the congregation.
The team collects the gifts and delivers them to
the children at the school. Contact Heather
Kahn or Howard Kahn

Winter
Hats We
provide hand made hats to the severely
underprivileged children at the Whitmer school in
Pontiac. Knitting experience is not needed
as each volunteer is provided with a nifty knitter
that allows anyone to create hats easily.
Training on the nifty knitter will be provided. If
you know how to knit conventionally, you may make
hats that way also. The hats are distributed
to the children at Christmas time along with the
Sharing Tree gifts. Contact Kaye Ferris.
Yard Clean
Up Volunteers
do raking and yard clean up for older members of
the congregation who need assistance with fall
yard clean up. Contact Kaye Ferris.
