Music
NUMC has a very active music program for all ages.
PRAISE TEAM
This group is vital to the contemporary part of
our worship. Singers and instrumentalists provide
the leadership for singing of praise songs at
the beginning of our worship service each Sunday
morning. The Praise Team welcomes both youth and
adults who sing, play guitar, percussion and/or
keyboard.
CHANCEL CHOIR
The Chancel Choir rehearses every Wednesday evening
at 7:00 p.m. in the Music Room. They provide
both new music and old favorites for worship each Sunday in addition to presenting
special music at Christmas and Easter, sometimes
enhanced by guest musicians. All singers are

YOUTH CHOIR
While there is not a Youth Choir per se, the youth,
are welcome to sing in the adult choir. The youth
do, however, participate in an annual camp outing
that is youth from NUMC as well as surrounding
Methodist churches who have a week-long camp each
year that culminates in a beautiful concert presentation
at the end of the week, open to the public.
CHILDREN’S CHOIR
Under the direction of Paula Grisell-Goldstein, the children
rehearse periodically at pre-set times and dates.
They perform in worship on a regular basis and
perform their own Christmas cantata during Advent.
The children’s choir is open to all elementary
age children. No audition is required to join
the choir.
HANDBELL CHOIR

In addition to the above, opportunities for small
ensemble and solo work are available at NUMC.
These special groups and solos are presented during
worship and as part of the seasonal music as well.
During the summer, when the choir is on hiatus,
special solos and ensembles are presented each
Sunday.
